Update October 19, 2022

Posted On Wednesday October 19, 2022

This is an update for the school happenings the next couple of weeks.

Monday, October 24th is a provincial professional activity day and there are no classes for students that day. Classes resume on Tuesday, October 25th and it will be a day 4 on the school cycle.

October 25th-Oct. 28th is Walk and Roll week at Fairport Beach! Students are encouraged to leave the car at home and walk/bike/scooter/skateboard to school.  All students are reminded to wear a proper helmet if using a bike/scooter/skateboard to get to school.  Once reaching school property, students should dismount from their bike/scooter/skateboard. and please follow safe sidewalk/road procedures.

Bikes should be locked up and scooters/skateboards will be stored in the school but remember that these items are brought to school at the students' own risk. The school is not responsible for any damage or loss of bikes/scooters/skateboards etc. So walking may be the better way! The Durham Region has graciously donated incentives to promote this initiative.

On October 31st Fairport Beach will be having a dance day for all of the classes! Students are encouraged to bring in a canned food item and the school will be selling treats with all proceeds going to a local food bank. Students can wear costumes that day if they wish - please remember not to bring replica weapons and students should not be wearing full face masks.  The wearing of costumes is at the students' own risk and the school is not responsible for any damage or loss of any costumes so please consider this before deciding how to proceed.

Happy Diwali on October 24th if you are celebrating!
